Each week 'Wrocław Uncut' will be bringing you weekly previews of what's on at the cinema in English.

Movie Of The Week:

Twenty Feet from Stardom

This week's featured movie is music documentary Twenty Feet from Stardom, which unveils the true story of what it's like to be a back up singer.

Directed and written by Morgan Neville, the film scooped an Oscar earlier this year for best documentary. Featuring interviews with stars such as Bruce Springsteen and Stevie Wonder, the documentary looks into the backing singers who have graced the stage with some of the world's biggest acts.

The Berlin File

This week's featured foreign language release is Korean spy thriller The Berlin File. The movie centres around a North Korean agent involved in an illegal arms deal gone wrong, who must find out who set him up in the midst of the manhunt placed against him. Michael Kohlhaas

This week's featured movie is Michael Kohlhaas, a French revenge thriller starring Mads Mikkelsen.

Directed by Arnaud des Pallières, the film is set in the 16th century in the Cévennes region. The central character is Michael Kohlhaas, a horse trader who is consistently ill-treated by his callous landlord. Michael attempts to gain justice for the horses that were illegally taken from him, as well as for an attack on his servant. His claims fall on death hears however, largely due to his landlord's influence in the court. When his wife is killed, it proves to be last straw for Kolhaas, who bares his sword and gathers together an rebellious army that threatens the existence of the current hierarchy.

Words and Pictures

American romantic comedy Words and Pictures is this latest English language release at Kino Nowe Horyzonty. Starring Clive Owen and Juliette Binoche, the movie revolves around an art instructor and English teacher, whose afflictions to their passions eventually forms the foundations of a fiercely competitive a rivalry. To decide the winner, the pair agree to set up a competition at their school in which the students choose if it is words or pictures that have more prominence.

Soshite chichi ni naru

This week's featured foreign language release is the South Korean production Soshite chichi ni naru . This emotional and highly acclaimed picture tells the story of Ryota Nonomiya, a hard working businessman who shockingly finds out that his biological sun was swapped with another baby moments after birth. The situation pushes him into making a life affirming decision - should he choose his true son or the boy he raised as his own?
