Z metropolii Chartumu pochodzi pięć postaci: urzędnik państwowy, uliczna sprzedawczyni herbaty, wolontariusz komitetu oporu i dwóch uliczników, którzy poszukują wolności. Ich losy w nieoczekiwany sposób splatają się poprzez animowane sny, rewolucje uliczne i wojnę domową. Pomimo tak dramatycznego tła, Chartum jest również pięknym, wzruszającym listem miłosnym, napisanym przez sudańskich filmowców zarówno do ich kraju, Sudanu, jak i do oblężonej metropolii: Chartumu.

Anas Saeed:

Sudański twórca medialny, początkowo pracował jako wideodziennikarz w niezależnej organizacji Ayin Network, dla której relacjonował m.in. tematy kulturowe i wojnę w Sudanie.

Rawia Alhag:

Sudanka pracująca w Nairobi (Kenia) jako filmowczyni i scenarzystka. Jej prace skupiają się na kwestiach kobiet i dzieci oraz doświadczeniach Sudanek w kraju i diasporze. Wyreżyserowała m.in. krótki film Out of Coverage.

Ibrahim Snoopy Ahmad:

Sudański filmowiec, operator i reżyser, wychowany jako „third-culture child”. Jego prace eksplorują tożsamość, przesiedlenie i odporność społeczności dotkniętych konfliktem.

Timeea Mohamed Ahmed:

Sudan¬ka, reżyserka, montażystka i producentka filmowa. Jej prace koncentrują się na kinie eksperymentalnym i dokumentalnym, tematami są konflikt, tożsamość i kulturowa wytrzymałość.

Philip Cox:

Brytyjski pisarz, reżyser, współkierujący kolektywem filmowym Native Voice Films od 1998 roku. Zrealizował ponad 30 filmów dla telewizji i kina.

From the metropolis of Khartoum, five Sudanese characters: a civil servant, a tea lady, a resistance committee volunteer, and two street boys, all in search of freedom, have their stories unexpectedly woven together through animated dreams, street revolutions, and a civil war. Despite such a dramatic backdrop Khartoum is also a beautiful and touching love letter made by the Sudanese filmmakers to both their country Sudan and the metropolis under siege: Khartoum.

Anas Saeed:

Sudanese media maker, initially worked as a video journalist for the independent organization Ayin Network, for which he reported on cultural issues and the war in Sudan, among other topics.

Rawia Alhag:

Sudanese filmmaker and screenwriter based in Nairobi, Kenya. Her work focuses on women's and children's issues and the experiences of Sudanese women in their country and in the diaspora. She directed, among others, the short film Out of Coverage.

Sudanese director, editor, and film producer. Her work focuses on experimental and documentary cinema, with themes of conflict, identity, and cultural resilience.

Philip Cox:

British writer, director, co-director of the Native Voice Films collective since 1998. He has made over 30 films for television and cinema.
