Krakow under Nazi occupation. Felicja is a budding actress, madly in love with fellow actor Rawicz, who does not reciprocate her feelings. When Rawicz is accused of murdering a Nazi collaborator, Felicja decides to let him hide in her house. She hopes that by living with her, he will develop feelings for her. Barbara Krafftówna's portrayal of Felicja has been acclaimed as one of the greatest female performances in the history of Polish cinema.
The lecture will cover the oeuvre of Wojciech Has, the phenomenon of the Polish school. Lecturer Agnieszka Jakimiak is a dramaturg and essayist, author of the play "How to Be Loved" which was inspired by Has's movie. Jakimiak's play, which was put on by Weronika Szczawińska and published by the monthly magazine "Dialog", received an honorable mention in the theatre industry survey of the monthly periodical "Teatr".
