Five movie premiers  at Kino Nowe Horyzonty:

Lasting (Cinematography Award at Sundance FF), the newest film by Jacek Borcuch premiers at New Horizons cinema  today. It will be screened with English subtitles (9 Feb – Saturday at 4pm and 17 Feb – Sunday at 4pm). 

Zero Dark Thirty directed by Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker), has already become one of the most controversial films ever made about America's war on terror. Nominated for five Academy Awards, including best picture, praise has been given to both Bigelow’s directing and Jessica Chastain’s superb central performance.

Silver Linings Playbook also opens at KHN today. David O. Russell (The Fighter) returns to helm this gloriously dark, quirky comedy about a bipolar ex-teacher adapting to life after a stint in a psychiatric hospital. Boasting winning turns from a great cast (Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Robert De Niro, Julia Stiles) and a sharp script with a feel-good twist, this new comedy-drama is a must-see treat.

Also, from the acclaimed director of A Prophet, Jacques Audiard brings us Rust and Bone and Carlos Reygadas, winner for Best Director at the last year’s film festival in Cannes – Post tenebras lux.
