Blue Ruin

This week's featured movie is Blue Ruin, a gruesome revenge thriller that's been wowing critics since its debut at the Cannes Film Festival.

The film revolves around the character of Dwight, a beach dweller who spends the days sleeping in his car and scavenging bins for food. When Dwight receives the news that the killer of his parents is due to release prison, he soon takes the opportunity to take out revenge by confronting and then killing the man who killed his elders. In the course of doing so however, he inadvertently crosses paths with a fierce gang - one that could be a threat to him and his other family members.

Magic in the Moonlight

Woody Allen's latest foray into the romantic comedy genre is Magic in the Moonlight, starring Colin Firth, Antonia Clarke and Natasha Andrews.

The film sees Colin Firth play the role of a talented magician, who is enlisted to help unmask the truth behind a young spiritualist that's been taking in a rich American family. Despite knowing just about every trick in the book however, the magician initially fails to find any tricks to the woman's act.
